Demantoid garnets are a fascinating green variety of the mineral garnet that sparkle more than diamonds and are found in only a few places around the world.

We love making jewellery out of rare and unusual gemstones. There’s a great story behind all of the stones we use and this definitely applies to demantoid garnets.

I first discovered the stone when I visited Namibia in 2015. As well as the small south-west African nation, demantoids are found in Iran, Madagascar, Italy and most famously Russia.

The exact colour of green varies by location; the most vivid greens are found in Russia. However, stones from Namibia, which are a more yellowy-green colour, sparkle more.

We’ve combined small round demantoid garnets in our yellow gold Javelin earrings. We’ve used 18ct yellow fairtrade gold and round cut demantoid garnets, which we bought in Namibia and had cut in Thailand.

The earrings are handmade in our North London workshop and are part of a limited edition run of just 10 pairs, though even this is subject to availability of the gemstones from Namibia.

The demantoids offer amazing sparkle and a flash of colour in these modern yellow gold linear gem-set earrings. They are hallmarked and cost £1400 a pair, though they are sold individually.

If you would like to enquire about securing a pair of these earrings pre-release then please use the contact form to get in touch. The earrings are scheduled to hit our online store in mid-May alongside other demantoid jewellery items.

These earrings will be made for pierced ears, though if you need alterations to be made for non-pierced ears, then we can accommodate this.

Demantoid garnets are suitable for frequent wear, especially in pieces like earrings as they receive little to no wear and tear in normal conditions. Demantoids can also be cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner and stored alongside other jewellery in a jewellery box.
